Audit Services

The QLM team are all qualified leisure health and safety consultants who provide such a service with leisure industry professional qualifications as members or fellows of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (MCIMSPA or FCIMSPA respectively) and a minimum of Graduate membership of IOSH (Grad IOSH) who are working towards chartered membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH). CMIOSH team members are listed on the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR). Terry Allen and Andy Ebben are also graduate members of the Institute of Fire Engineers (GradIFireE).

Our approach to the leisure health and safety audits and reviews is the appraisal of best practice in general health and safety management and of leisure specific requirements (e.g. pool, gymnasia safety systems).  Our expertise in leisure facility operation provides a unique service to assist in the proactive management of health and safety.

The objective is to provide a full audit or review of the health and safety management system at specified sites.

Our environmental audits provide a robust examination of the company’s approaches to environmental management against internationally recognised standard criteria.

Lifeguard Reviews

 

A detailed lifeguard review will be carried out and consider the numbers of lifeguards for programmed and unprogrammed sessions operated at the pool against current industry standards, expectations and experience.

The aim is to make recommendations for improvements in the effectiveness
and efficiency (where applicable) and deployment of lifeguards.

QLM Mystery Visit Service

The QLM mystery service will assist the organisation to improve the service provided at its facilities, as part of its continuous improvement programme.

The mystery visits will cover the core elements of lifeguarding and supervision, making observations against the standards and guidance.

The findings of the mystery visits will be presented as an observation sheet.  This can be tailored to meet any additional or specific needs.

The visits would consist of between 3 and 4 visits per day and would be completed by a member of the QLM team.  All of whom are qualified leisure and health and safety professionals.

Covid-19 Reviews

 

QLM can support organisations by producing COVID-19 risk assessments and procedures to help mitigate the risks, we prepare to open, to staff, members of public, contractors and visitors working in or visiting our facilities.
