The Health and Safety Management Certificate course is a leisure management course designed to cover the primary requirements of health and safety within leisure, sport, recreation and culture facilities giving successful candidates the knowledge and skills required.
This three day course is run by Quality Leisure Management Ltd (QLM) and endorsed by CIMSPA.
Assessed by examination, for successful candidates, the course leads to the awarding of a Certificate in Health and Safety Management in Leisure and Culture Facilities.
The course is suitable for staff working in leisure management as a Duty Officer, Assistant Manager or Manager or for staff with responsibility for day to day operation or who may be expected to cover these roles on an occasional basis.
The leisure management course incorporates studies and scenarios relevant to the leisure industry, leisure managers, sports centres, health clubs, gyms, swimming pools and similar leisure facilities and environments, so delegates can relate what they are being taught to the environment in which they are working.
Health & safety management systems, health & safety legislation, risk assessment and health & safety behaviour and culture
Fire safety, safe use of electricity, manual handling, safety signs, lone working and contractor management
Accident management, asbestos management, stress & noise at work, employment legislation and health and safety law, alcohol and drugs in work, stress and noise at work, workplace and work equipment, DSE and working at height
The course concludes with a multiple choice assessment paper.
Course costs include a training manual, handouts, assessment and certificate for successful candidates.
This CIMSPA Endorsed leisure management course offers professional development and 10 CIMSPA CPD points.
This three day course and will be delivered via video conferencing using Zoom or Microsoft Teams, in real-time with a qualified health and safety consultant and leisure professional.
Delegates will therefore need to have access to a PC or Laptop with webcam and microphone as well as Zoom videos communications and a good internet connection. Details of Zoom system requirements can be found at System Requirements for PC, Mac, and Linux
The course is scheduled to run on the 15, 17 and 19 March 2021 and is available at the inclusive price of £350+VAT per delegate or £300+VAT for QLM retained clients and CIMSPA members.
