Training Course:

Level 2 Manual Handling Principles & Practice

Course Introduction

This course offers a comprehensive approach to safer and more effective manual handling, aligning with HSE recommendations while also encouraging safe practices in various scenarios.

Manual handling activities, such as lifting, carrying, pulling, and pushing, often combined with movements like climbing or pivoting, are part of our daily lives. Improper manual handling at work is a significant cause of personal injuries, leading to over one million lost working days annually, along with the pain and suffering of those injured. Proper manual handling techniques can greatly reduce these risks.

The Health and Safety Executive has long recognized the dangers of manual handling, as reflected in their regulations and guidance promoting best practices. According to these regulations, employers are required to provide health and safety information and training to their employees, including specific instruction on manual handling risks and injury prevention where necessary.
