Terry is a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner (CMIOSH) and registered Occupational Safety and Health Consultant (OSHCR). He is also a member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (MCIMSPA) and Technician Member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (MIFSM).
Terry holds a BA(Hons) in Sports Studies, Post Graduate Certificate in Management, a variety of Industry qualifications and the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
Starting his career as a lifeguard with a Bronze Medallion and then the first Pool Bronze, Terry has a long history in the leisure industry. Operational areas included management of pools, dry sports, health & fitness, and adventure activities (AALA).
As a lead trainer, Terry develops and delivers courses including IOSH Managing Safely, the CIMSPA endorsed Health and Safety Management Certificate, and Behavioural Safety for Lifeguards. Additional specialisms include climbing walls, workplace noise exposure and fire. Terry has authored for Croner-i Health and Safety and is a former PIPA inspector.
