Doug has over 30 years Leisure industry experience which spans across Local Government, Private Sector and Leisure Trusts including licensed house management. Academically qualifications include a HND in Leisure Management, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Service Sector Management and a Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
Doug is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and Graduate member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
Doug initiated,developed and was involved in the production of the successful Royal Life Saving Society / IQL DVD ‘A Life Changing Event.’
He is a lead auditor for QLM Leisuresafe,™ delivers CIMSPA and IOSH health and safety courses, he also undertakes accident and incident investigations along with supporting QLM’s UK client base.
In his spare time Doug is a volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officer, trained in various search and rescue disciplines, he is trained to Officer in Charge status. In 2009 he was awarded the Chief Coastguards Commendation for Meritorious service.
